Introducing the latest RenderCube Design. This ultra-compact "MiniCube" is about 12.5" square and 20" tall (320mm x 510mm). The prototype unit has four single P4 microATX motherboards, each with its own power supply and 3.5" SATA hard drive. And of course, like all of our RenderCubes, we integrated a network switch and KVM into the design too.

RenderCube Technologies is pleased to announce that it is now shipping the RenderCube-MP.

Incorporating recently introduced dual Athlon MP motherboards and dual 1800+ MP processors, this machine is designed to be the ultimate rendering number cruncher.

To develop the RenderCube-MP, we made a few changes to our original RenderCube design, like widening the internal "processing core" to adapt to the larger dual motherboards and adding vertical corner braces that not only stiffen the aluminum chassis, but help it meet FCC emmisions standards. And to keep 8 processors and up to 16 GB of memory cool, we've added dual 100 cfm AC chassis fans. Contact us to find out how quickly you can get your own RenderCube-MP!

That's Ross leaning against a blue RenderCube mounted on a lazy susan. Visitors could spin the cube to see all four sides as well as the inside. Most visitors were very surprised to discover that the burgandy RenderCube (at the left) was actually running as its very quiet.

We ran a 100 frame 3ds max benchmark file repeatedly for most of the show. Frames took about four and a half minutes on our 366MHz single workstation and about 1 minute on the dual 866 MHz PIII. Put in other words, four dual motherboards were putting out about 4 frames a minute so the RenderCube was pumping out 1 frame every 15 seconds. Now that's performance!
